KEARNEY, Neb. – The following is from the Kearney Police Department:
The Nebraska Office of Highway Safety recently sponsored a grant for the Kearney Police Department (KPD) to take part in the National Drive Sober or Get Pulled law enforcement effort.
This selective enforcement was conducted from December 18, 2020 to January 1, 2021.
Officers participated in 27 additional hours of enforcement, specifically focused on cracking down on impaired driving violations such as Minor in Possession, Open Container, Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, and Minor DUI.
During those 27 hours of enforcement, KPD made six arrests (DUI-Alcohol (5), Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Minor in Possession of Alcohol). Additionally, KPD Officers had 16 total contacts.
