KGFW Sports – BC Offers Haarberg, Ivy in HOF, Storm NHL Prospects

Kearney Catholic Quarterback Heinrich Haarberg has picked up his first Power Five scholarship offer. The senior to be, who already has a number of small D1 offers, received an offer from Boston College Wednesday. Haarberg has drawn interest but no offer yet from the Huskers and was on hand for Nebraska’s first spring practice last month. The 3 star prospect has also seen recent interest from Oregon and Auburn.

Husker women’s basketball standout Maurtice Ivy was announced as the fourth member of the 2020 University of Nebraska Athletic Hall of Fame class on Wednesday. As the 1988 Big Eight Player of the Year, she led the Huskers to the Big Eight regular-season title and a trip to the program’s first NCAA Tournament. The first 2,000-point scorer in program history, Ivy was also the first Husker to be a three-time all-conference selection and the first to be named conference player of the year. She was only the second Husker to have her jersey retired.

Four Tri-City Storm players and two affiliate list player have been named to NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings for the 2020 NHL Draft in Montreal, Quebec. Mitchell Miller, Colby Ambrosio, Nick Capone, and Kyle Aucoin are ranked in the Top 160 of Central Scouting’s final ranking of North American Skaters. 2019 USHL Phase II Draft selections Trey Taylor and Cole O’Hara, who both spent the 2019-2020 season on the Storm’s affiliate list, have also been listed in the final rankings. Last year, the Storm led the world with five players selected at the 2019 NHL Draft
