BOSTON, MASS. – Nebraska track and field added a long jump First-Team All-American on Friday at the NCAA Indoor Championships, hosted in Boston, Mass. Till Steinforth’s big first jump at the TRACK at new balance made him Nebraska’s first First-Team All-American in the long jump since Patrick Raedler in 2014.

Steinforth claimed seventh with a distance of 25-10 (7.87m). Two weeks ago, he won the Big Ten title in the long jump with a personal-best 26-2 ¾ (7.99m). That marks Steinforth’s third time honored as a First-Team All-American after placing fourth in the heptathlon and the decathlon at NCAAs last season.

The junior from Saxony-Anhalt, Germany also competed in the first four events of the heptathlon on Friday, sitting in third with 3476 points. Steinforth ran a 6.84 in the 60m to start with 940 points. He then recorded the farthest long jump mark with 25-6 (7.77m) to take the lead in the heptathlon standings. In the shot put section, Steinforth threw 46-1 ¼ (14.05m) and in the high jump, he cleared 6-6 ¾ (2.00m) to finish Friday in third. He’ll take on the 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m tomorrow.
