YWCA “Welcome to G.I.” Coffees are held on the second Saturday of each month; 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the YWCA at 211 E. Voices from the Past Program, sponsored by the Hall County Historical Society, 2:00 p.m. Plum Street Station, Grand Island.  Jo Riedy and Carol Mieth will focus on "Borglum Brothers."  Solon lived in a dugout northwest of Cairo in the 1890s.  His brother Gutzon, visited him there.  Both went on to be famous sculptors.  Solon sculpted Native Americans and cowboys.  Gutzon is best known for the four U.S. President’s faces on Mount Rushmore.

Grand Island Little Theatre presents the musical comedy "Little Shop of Horrors" on February 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th at 7:30 p.m. and February 21st and 28th at 2 p.m. at College Park Auditorium, 3180 West US Highway 34, Grand Island.  Tickets are $12.50 plus tax per person and available by calling the Grand Island Little Theatre box office at 308 - 382 - 2586.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door.  For more information go to: www.githeatre.org.

The Grand Island Parks and Recreation Department and the YMCA are now accepting registrations from teams for its sixth annual Winter Rally Volleyball Tournament.  The tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, February 20-21, at Grand Island Senior High School. 

The tournament is open to Adult Men’s, Women’s, and Coed teams.   Participants must be at least 16 years old to participate.  The fee for the tournament is $70 with a minimum of four matches guaranteed.    The registration deadline is Wednesday, February 5; however, the tournament is expected to fill early and registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis.  To obtain a registration form or for more information contact the Grand Island Parks and Recreation office at 308-385-5444 ext. 290 or the YMCA at  308-395-9622.  Registration forms can also be found on the City of Grand Island web site at www.grand-island.com.

2rd Annual St. Paul Senior Center Soup Supper at 808 Howard Avenue in St. Paul, Nebraska.  Free will offering for  chicken noodle soups, homemade bread and pies.  Homemade noodles also for sale.
