UPDATE: Wounded Columbus officer released from hospital

COLUMBUS, Neb. (AP) – A Columbus police officer wounded during a gunbattle has left an Omaha hospital.

Sgt. Brad Wangler was released Monday from Nebraska Medical Center after suffering two gunshot wounds on Thursday evening.

Wangler was with another officer to serve an arrest warrant to 24-year-old Jorge Robledo, who met the officers with a handgun and proceeded to fire upon them.

Police say Robledo was hit five or six times while Wangler was hit twice. Robledo remains in the hospital.
